Sapphire App is Cancelled


THE HEADLINE: The Sapphire Blessing App is closing effective today, December 8, 2021.


THE BACKSTORY: The Appy Pie platform that we have been using for our app has become increasingly unstable, and the Appy Pie support team has become defiantly truculent.

We are close to finishing the build out of our new app, but not there yet. I had hoped to be able to seamlessly transition from one app to the next, in classic SLG style, but it was not to be.

Denise is spending way too much time bubble gumming the existing app and I am out of bubble gum and patience, since God is doing big, big things in our lab right now and we need to follow the trail of grace and not wander around this wilderness anymore.

We will be without an app for a few weeks until we roll out the new one, hopefully early next year.

So . . . as one who eschews ambiguity, allow me to spell it out.

 -No one new can subscribe to the existing app.

 -There will be no new content released.

 -You will lose access to all the content that is there for a few weeks.

 -You cannot download the content you have or your favorites or your playlists or anything else.


The only thing that is NOT done is the long reach of Apple and Google Play. You have subscribed to the app which means they have your credit card number, and shameless predators that they are, they will cheerfully keep billing you for the monthly charge for an app that no longer exists, JUST BECAUSE THEY CAN.

If you opt to ignore them, they will keep taking your money endlessly. If you are not feeling particularly charitable toward those two not-struggling businesses, you will need to meticulously follow the instructions Denise has posted below.


Just can’t. Period.

So Denise, over to you. Spell the exit strategy out for all the people in the Tribe who who precisely follow directions.




There are two steps to unsubscribing from the app.

1. Delete Sapphire Blessings App Account:

For all devices: Open the app and click on the three dots in the upper right corner. Click on "Profile" and choose "Delete Account."

Then uninstall the app from your device.

2. Delete Subscription (Stop payment)

For Google Play Subscriptions:

  • Open Google Play Store.
  • Click on your profile icon at the end of the search bar.
  • Choose "Payment & Subscriptions."
  • Then click on "Subscriptions."
  • Choose "Sapphire Blessings."
  • Scroll to the bottom and click on "Cancel Subscription."

Google may ask you if you want to "pause instead" (Click "No Thanks") and then may ask for a reason (you may click "decline to answer"). THEN, finally, it will let you click the "Cancel Subscription" button.

For Apple Store Subscriptions:

  • Open Apple's general settings icon.
  • Click on your profile (your name).
  • Click on "Subscriptions."
  • Choose "Sapphire Blessings."
  • Click the button that says "Cancel Subscription."

Click "Confirm" on the pop-up button.

Older iPhones do not have "Subscriptions", you will need to sign into your Apple App Store account and cancel it from there.


PLEASE NOTE: We cannot stop the payment for you since it is linked to your personal Google or Apple account. Apple and Google WILL continue to charge you if you do not cancel the subscription from your personal app-store account.
